Below is a list of regions where Fearless has been launched. Click on the tabs to find out what happened there.
London
The London launch took place on April 14th 2010 @ the Ministry of Sound. We had performances by young people in the play Skin Deep, the artist Doctor and a speech by Barry and Margaret Mizen who lost their son Jimmy, to violent crime in May 2008.
MC Doctor said: “I grew up on an estate in South East London, where there was some gun and knife crime so I know how bad it is. I was lucky because I was focussed on my music and I knew that’s what I wanted to do. But so many young people have died because of crime and it shouldn’t be like that. I want young people to know that they don’t have to choose that way of life. I think Fearless is a really good service because young people need to know that there’s somewhere they can get advice on crimes and pass on information without anyone finding out who they are.”
The event was a huge success and a big thanks to everyone who came and took part. If you would like to see more photos from the event please join our facebook fan page – Fearless.
Gloucestershire
The sunniest
of our launches to date took place at a youth and community event in Cheltenham on Saturday 22nd May 2010. The
launch was supported the Mayor of Cheltenham Councillor Anne Regan and Chris
Raymond former Gloucester
rugby player who is now involved in youth sport in the county.
Chris said. I fully support ‘fearless’ as it is specifically aimed at young
people. The ‘fearless’ website, at ‘fearless.org’ gives clear information about
crimes which affect young people and gives them the chance to give information
about crime anonymously if they do not want to go to the police.
Paul Menhinick, Crimestoppers Coordinator for Gloucestershire said: “Young
people are one of the most important audiences for Crimestoppers to communicate
with. One of the key reasons for re-launching Crimestoppers for young people is
to empower them to be ‘fearless’ in passing on information about crime
anonymously, safe in the knowledge that their identity will never be revealed
and they will not have to speak to the police.”
A big thanks to everyone who showed their support on the day.

Northern Ireland
The Fearless launch in Northern Ireland was awesome!
The event was held at Belfast’s re-opened Ulster Museum and was attended by over 50 young people. There were interactive presentations on the new website and brand before a Q & A session for the young people with Olympic Medal Winner and newly-crowned European Champion Boxer Paddy Barnes on a theme of the importance of having courage to conquer fears and achieve success.
Paddy Barnes said; “When I step into the ring I have to conquer any fear and stay focussed. Fearless is a great website for young people to encourage them to do the right thing, and give them the confidence that no-one will ever know they contacted Crimestoppers.”
Local celebrities have been getting behind the campaign in Northern Ireland by confessing to their innermost fears. Apprentice Star Ben Clarke is petrified of needles, Sports Anchorman Graham Little can’t stand mice, while Model Katie Larmour has no problem scuba diving apart from her fear of boats.
Thanks again for everyone’s hard work and support in making this event a huge success.

Aston
‘Aston’s Got Talent’ – The name of the launch held in Aston on May 5th 2010. Young people were asked to perform or present artwork on a specific subject ‘drug crime and Crimestoppers’. Over 150 people turned up to support the event so a big thanks to all who came.
Mubina Khan, Aston Coordinator for Crimestoppers said “It’s vital that everyone realises that they can play an important role in helping make their communities better places to live.”

North East
The fearless launch in the North East was held Unity City Academy in Middlesborough on Wednesday
24th June.
Chris Preddie, a youth worker for Fearless attended the event to talk to the
pupils about his experiences of crime. Please visit the Chris Preddie facebook
fan page for more information.
Official figures show that almost one in four children aged 10 to 15 have been
a victim of crime in the past year. However young people are far less likely to
report their experiences, with just 11% going to police, compared with 37% of
adults.
Dave Hunter, North-east regional manager for Crimestoppers, told the pupils at
the launch at the school: “This website was set up specifically to help you if
you find yourself in a difficult situation.
“It offers guidance, help and also a facility where you can let Crimestoppers
know if someone is hurting you or doing something against you and your friends.
“You could save somebody from being a victim and play your part in helping your
fellow pupils.”
Thanks to all those people who attend the launch and made it a huge success.
